Rules and Regulations

 

The competition is open to all nationality and ages. If participants are under 18 years old, the signature of a parent or guardian is required.

All entry forms must be submitted together with a non-refundable. An entry fee of USD $30.00 is payable for each submission. The organizer is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated submissions. All submissions will be confirmed by email. Submissions will NOT be returned.

Contestants are allowed to enter more than 1 entry. SUBMIT ONE ENTRY PER FORM.

The MIGFEST 2014 offers the following categories,

• Ukulele Playing Competition in Junior (below 12 years of age) and Opened categories

• Classical Guitar Playing Competition in Junior (below 12 years of age) and Opened categories

• Acoustic Guitar Playing Competition in Opened category

All submissions must include the following, postmarked no later than 31st July 2014

• Application form(s) for the MIGFEST 2014 Competition

• Submission of a Net Application Fee of USD30.00 payable to the Organizer

• The fee is non-refundable

• Upload an unedited video recording of the participant’s solo playing no longer than 10 min per entry on www.youtube.com. 

• The content of the video should have the name of the contestant and the title of the tune played.

• Videos must be authentic, original and should not have been released previously on YouTube or any other similar website or other medium such as a DVD.

• Score sheet of participant’s entry song

• Bio-data and a recent high resolution photograph of the participant

 

The venue for the final competition will be held at the MATIC Malaysian Tourism Information Center Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur

All contestants must be properly attire and provide their own instruments during the competition.

Failure or late to appear during the competition forfeits the contestants opportunity to participate.

In the event of an unforeseen venue/date change, The Organizer cannot be held responsible for participant's expenses and will notify and reschedule with artists and judges

Participants in the MIGFEST 2014 Competition, grant permission to the Organizer to use their names, likeness, and music for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. Entrant will retain full rights to all works submitted for the competition. Music will not be used without the expressed consent of artist.

The Organizer retains exclusive rights to audio and video recording during the Competition without further obligation to the competitors.

All participants cover on their own expense travel and accommodation. The Organizer has the right to offer participants several possibilities for travel and accommodation, but is not responsible for their choice.

The panel of Judges and Advisory Board will evaluate the videos and select the finalists according to the following criteria,

• Style/Interpretation

• Technique

• Musicality

• Originality

• General presentation

 

The judge’s individual scores will be confidential

All Finalists will be informed by email or phone no later than 1st August 2014.

The Organizer takes no responsibilities for injuries or any other accident of all participants (active and passive participants, professors, organizations, fair participants, as all other guests that appear in rooms where manifestation takes place). Organizer also does not take any responsibility for any damages or stolen goods.

By submitting materials to the Organizer, entrant agrees to be bound by entry rules and regulations established herein. Rules are subject to changes without notice (but we'd notify you if we did change the rules). Application to participate in the competition implies that the contestants unconditionally accept all of the above rules.
